I think the beginning of this manga is ridiculously good and well thought out (I mean come on, this mangaka kicks ASS). sure it lays the ground work but it's not hard to understand if you're not drunk or above the age of 5.
and it's not like you have to understand EVERYTHING from the get-go(SPOILER): a fantasy world where dragons exist, a handful of competing countries with different dragons (earth/water etc), people either develop into humans that control dragons or they become dragons, a little boy thats the future leader of his country/clan/whatever and THATS IT. geez. the art is amazing and the story really interesting.

Keep in mind, this was written when only 2 chapters were translated :

Seriously? What a horrible beginning. The intro is really confusing and vague. The story tries to lay the ground work for a huge world with unique geology, a half-human/dragon protagonist and a war for survival. ALL in the first chapter.

Of course, one chapter in isn't gonna tell me much, but this does look promising. The one thing though, I'm not sure if I get what's going on enough... Would probably had helped if there was a summery up...
