Hey thanks so much for your releases ! It’s been a long time I read your works and it’s a real pleasure each time. Plus, you know well chosing your titles ^^ (especially Naono Bohra’s works !!). But, if you permit, I have a comment about one of your releases from today (Bokurani matsuwaru etc). I just have read it and it was a bit “difficult” to read sometimes (e.g : “meanin’ ” instead of “meaning”, ” ‘ome” instead of “home”, etc…). I understand all the phrases but english isn’t my native tongue…

@kanna: Thanks for your input. It really is much appreciated. Truth be told, it’s experimental on my part since Keita does talk a little funny even in the original language version. It suits his personality, though, so I thought it’d be worth a try to see if we can bring the effect over into English.

We dithered internally over whether it’d be a good idea but at the end of the day, what we want is for readers to experience something as close as possible to what the Japanese readers get to enjoy. I’m sorry if it’s a little difficult to understand but it’s a part of who Keita is. Try as I might, I just can’t imagine him speaking like a normal human being any longer now that I’m so exposed to him. I kept back-spacing when I was coming out with the script, agonizing with the decision of whether to do it or not. I’m glad I did, though.

I guess it’s kinda like how the Kansai dialect (Kansaiben) is slightly more difficult for non-natives. But I do understand the necessity for it to be there if a character’s from the Kansai region. Please note that, however, Keita’s speech isn’t actually Kansaiben. It isn’t even a dialect. I don’t think so anyway since everyone was speaking in the Kantou dialect. If it /was/ a dialect he’s using, I’ve no idea which is it. Whatever it was he’s using, it wasn’t difficult to for me understand at all. He just added extra suffixes here and there. Which can’t be done in English without it being totally off-the-scale weird so I settled for the lazy-bum speech instead, omitting vowels here and there, which I personally feel suits him, what with his laidback-surfer kinda personality. ^^;

Once again, thank you for you input. It counts for a lot since any and all input helps me improve. =) And despite the difficulty you had reading it, I hope you enjoyed the story for what it is.

Bokurani Matsuwaru is great! I love the extra effort put in to emulate Keita’s speech. It would be an aspect of his personality that would be lost had you taken an easier route and utilized standard dialect English. It’s definitely much appreciated! The art is also awesome and the characters are so loveable. I can’t wait to read the next chapter!
