The yaoi rumor mill is buzzing today with a bunch of licensing news. One of which is Kyou, Hana Gotoshi by Drama Queen. We’ve checked DQ’s site and forum to confirm this, but nothing is posted. Regardless, we’re releasing chapter 4 today as a “farewell and congratulations” gift, which does complete the project. This was one our most loved projects, and I don’t think there was anyone who didn’t like it. :)
5.6.2007 – Kyou, Hana no Gotoshi by Norikazu Akira – c04 (end)
We’re only providing 1 YSI download link. Please do not ask for alternative links.
–YSI Link expired–
Please do not repost the link or share the file elsewhere, especially on any sharing communities or forums. Also, we ask that all distribution of the previous chapters cease and you support the mangaka and Drama Queen when they release it.

To all the people whining: Deal with it. [ The project's licensed. ] DP does not release licensed projects. The second it’s announced, we delete all the links. Kyou Hana ch.4 was going to be released this week–that’s the ONLY reason we posted it. Our staff didn’t even get a copy. DQ has by far the best quality prints, so stop bitching that an awesome artist got licensed by them.
To everyone else; thank you for understanding what “licensed” means in the scanlation world. (Good luck to anyone taking finals this week *soul flies out*)

I would have loved to have got this before it was licensed, but one can’t really complain. This project was absurdly cute, I might find the money some time to order it.
Woe for exams! I’d share some sympathy, but I think I’m all out. Calculuuuuussss… dies
ok…thanx for the release even-though i dident read the seriese-thanx for your hard work.
And i have a question^^Do you have any information on weather or not Togainu no Chi has been picked up by another publisher or not?
Thanks for doing this project! It was one of my favorites. I’m glad DQ was the one to snap it up, especially now that my local comic place actually stocks them :).
Interesting that this comic wasn’t “licensed” when you scanlated in the first place. Japanese publishers clearly don’t count when it comes to licensing, because… ummm… They’re real publishing companies, with actual resources? They aren’t American? Something rational and totally non-hypocritical, I’m sure.
DramaQueen’s presses are terrible, and their translations are usually only mediocre. I don’t know why they’re so widely idolized in the yaoi fan community, except to assume that in general, the yaoi fan community is not so bright. This “license” is very bad news, for Norikazu Akira more than anyone, because most English-speaking fans will only ever see a crappy fourth-hand reproduction of her beautiful manga.
If you’re so fond of licensing and respect and shouting at people, why not just release text translations and force fans to buy hard copies of your mysteriously published but non-licensed series in the first place? Why distinguish one “license” from another? If you’re so worried about it, why not just shut down permanently? I hate to be the one to break it to you, but all the series you scanlate are licensed. Really!
Incidentally, if the “scanlation world” has developed a new meaning for the word “licensed” which suggests that published material printed in a foreign language isn’t subject to copyright infringement until the moment it’s published in English, then perhaps the scanlation world needs to spend a little more time at home with the dictionary.
Also, you might wanna take that unauthorized, copyright-infringing manga art off your layout. ‘Cause, you know. Licensed.
Amme,
Well, since DP is an English scanlation group, it goes without saying that discussions about licensing have to do with English publishers.
The comments about DQ’s presses and translations are your own opinions, of course. A true fan would buy the manga because DQ is a decent publisher and there are far worse ones out there. If DP were to release text translations, who knows when the next person will visit this site randomly just to comment that the translations are “mediocre”.
Nowhere does it say that all scanlation groups produce near perfect translations that would never detract from the mangaka’s beautiful work the way a professional publisher’s “crappy fourth-hand reproductions” would. Publishers are paid to spend time and effort to translate. Scanlators do it for free. It cuts in on their real life obligations and their spare time. Is it really that hard to imagine that publishers, who do this as a job, would be better than scanlators?
There’s no difference at all between crappy translations from a publisher and crappy translations from a scanlator. So please don’t slander a publisher, then turn around and ask an unprofessional group to do the translation instead. With that said, DP’s translations are excellent. But if you consider your idea in relation to all publishers and scanlators and think about things generally, your logic doesn’t add up.
Manga has such a large fan base around the world because there are dedicated fans who put out fansubs and fan translations. This puts the authors’ names out there. It tells foreign publishing companies that these things are in high demand.
As for the manga-art featured on the layout, DP is not making money off of the image. There is also a credits section on the sidebar which credits the original illustrator.
If you are so opposed to scanlations, I can’t imagine why you would visit a scanlation site. What’s more, you even spent time typing out your lovely (and rather long) list of objections. Your whole speech just screams, “NO LIFEâ€. If you were really dedicated to your opinion, you should start your own website rather than cluttering up someone else’s and harassing other people.
Amme: You came here to get the scanlation, yet you’re lecturing us about the ethics of scanlating.
If you would have stopped to think instead of bitching because you didn’t get the file, all groups drop a project when it gets licensed in English. It’s not anything new.
maia: Still no news on the version that was in ZERO. The general fan consensus is they’re not going to pick it back up, since the Comic B’sLog one is doing well.
The Comic B’sLog version is over 3 tankoubon’s so far (2 have been published). I wouldn’t be surpised if it goes to a fourth book.
Scryren^^thank you so much for the info^^ZERO is my fave though…^^ohh well thanck you again^^
Meep. Was late here, too. ;__; Oh well~ Will definitely buy the manga soon! Is the series definitely scheduled for license? I’ve never bought anything from DQ… that might change soon… xD
Hi, so is the link expired already then? I guess I’m too late huh, cause when I tried the link just down, it said download limit exceeded.

Oh No!! I’m late. I like this manga so much.
